Haslemere Care Shop

Haslemere Care Shop
On 7th. May 2011 the Charity proudly opened its third Charity shop known as 'Haslemere Care'. The then Mayor of Haslemere, Mrs Melanie Odell kindly opened the Shop formally and wished us well. The Chairman of the Trustees, Carl Tantum, suggested that this 'was one giant step for Haslemere as well as the Charity'. The fact that a children's entertainer had been retained that day called 'Mr. Giant' was not significant. Certain retailers in the vicinity, however, were surprised to be accosted by a dressed up rabbit on that morning !
Since May, the shop, formerly run by Oxfam, has gone from strength to strength. The essential partnership between the local Community and the shop is beginning to build up and donations and support have been excellent. The trading figures are on track and in due course the local community will greatly benefit by this additional fiscal resource.
Christine Kinge, our professional Manager and her wonderful Volunteers (many of whom worked for Oxfam previously) are making the difference. The shop really looks smart and inviting. Please come in and see us and we still have one or two shifts to fill with Volunteers.
We have joined the Haslemere Chamber of Trade and are currently evaluating the Haslemere Reward card. We will collect and deliver and our prices are just right !!
